How we check every price on this site
Most "best AI receptionist" pages are written by companies selling AI receptionists. This one has rules, and they are enforced by the code that builds the site.
01Prices come from the vendor, not from other blogs
Every plan price is read off the vendor's own pricing page, docs, help centre or signup flow. Review sites, listicles, G2 and Reddit threads are banned as price sources — the build script rejects them, so a bad source fails the build instead of quietly shipping.
02Every number carries the date we read it
Pricing in this category moves monthly. A price without a date is a rumour, so each vendor page shows when we last loaded the source, and the check date is what the freshness badge reports.
03Unknown stays unknown
If a vendor doesn't state whether it does live transfer, the cell reads 'unstated' — not 'no'. If it doesn't publish a price, the page says so plainly instead of inventing a range. What a vendor refuses to put in writing is itself useful information.
04No paid placement, no affiliate ordering
Vendors are sorted by their own published entry price. Nobody can pay to move up, and no ranking on this site changes based on a referral deal.
05No invented reviews or test results
You will not find star ratings, fake customer quotes or 'we tested it' claims we can't back with a recording. When the call lab launches, it ships with the audio and the transcript attached.
06Corrections are public and fast
Spot a stale number? Mail jude@everydaysoftware.ai. We recheck the source, update the number and move the check date — the old value doesn't silently disappear.
Conflict of interest
Disclosure: I run Everyday Software, which builds custom AI phone agents. That makes me a competitor to some vendors listed here, which is exactly why every claim on this site is sourced to the vendor's own page rather than my opinion.
